  2. What happens at ladies Ladies Night...

Well, our latest ladies night was a complete success with all the girls sitting down to manicures, head massages & custom cocktails prepared by Iain, our stand in for Tom Cruise but just as charming! As one lady put it "I can't believe you do all this for us and don't charge us a penny, we are totally spoiled".

Everyone had a great time, from the exciting simplicity of a good old raffle with lots of prizes ranging from an Elemis Spa neck and back massage to a huge bottle of Proccesco to lots of Giant goodies, to the serious business of announcing our sponsorship of Scotland's new National Women's Road Race Series, the evening was both fun & informative for all types of female cyclists.

Collette Clensy, Marketing Manager for Giant UK came along to support & gathered lost of valuable information from our lady cyclists on what they think of ladies cycling & how it is purveyed.

We'd also like to thank the many suppliers that took time to attend the evening

  3. Exciting updates on our Derek Stewart evening!

Exciting new additions to our evening with Derek Stewart!

In 2008 Derek Stewart entered his first triathlon to raise money for charity, it also gave him a reason to get fit and learn to swim properly. In 2010 he completed his first Ironman (2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike and 26.2 mile marathon) and proved to himself what was possible with a focused and disciplined approach.

Completing Ironman was the start of a journey, not the finish as he then raised his sights to complete the "toughest footrace on Earth" the Marathon des Sables; 5.5 marathons in 6 days across the Sahara Desert. His current goals include; for 2014; 53 mile Ultramarathon, 70.3 Ironman and a 10km river swim. In September 2015 he will also be running the Grand to Grand Ultra at the Grand Canyon USA. 6 stages, 7 days; a total race length of 170 miles.

Derek is an exceptional example of what can be achieved when you are focused & we're absoloutely thrilled to have him come to our Glasgow store in April.

  6. Ladies night update

    Hey ladies,

Places are running out for the exclusive woman's cycling night at our Glasgow store on March 19th at 6.30pm.

Collette Clensy, the marketing manager for Giant UK & more importantly for Liv/Giant, the women's specific branch of the worlds biggest bike company will be with us on the night listening to what it is you want from your bikes to the type of clothing you want. She is a major force in how the image of woman's cycling is delivered to both retailers & the UK public. Hers is a fascinating role & she'll allow you to pick her brains & give feedback on what you like & don't like about the public perception of ladies who cycle. She is also partial to a martini or two!

If you are keen on taking part in racing with particular note to accumulating BC points then we will have an exciting announcement to make along with Scottish cycling. Some of the SC team will be there too, this is not to be missed!
