If you buy a bike from Dales Cycles you can choose one of two ways to get your bicycle delivered. A standard (free) service or our "premium" service. Please read on to find out the difference between these two services, either of which can be selected at the checkout when ordering your bike.
*Standard bicycle delivery (free)
Our free bicycle delivery is the way Dales Cycles has been sending bikes since we started our mail order service. When your order is confirmed, you will shortly after receive an email from TNT Logistics assigning a date of shipping and a tracking number. TNT can only offer a 9am-6pm weekday service and cannot allocate a specific time of day to deliver your bike.
We go to great length to ensure your bike is in the very best condition both mechanically and aesthetically when it reaches you; this is how we do it. We take the bicycle from its original box in "kit" form, and then our CYTECH qualified mechanics perform a PDI (pre delivery inspection) to bring the bike to a "ride away" state.
When the PDI is completed we disconnect the handlebars, disconnect the front wheel, disconnect the pedals and the seatpost before packaging the bike safely and securely into its original packaging.
When you get the bike, following the enclosed instructions carefully, you will have to reconnect all of the above parts to make the bike ready to ride. This requires some tools and minor adjustments and a basic mechanical knowledge is also an advantage, often a safety check at your local bike shop is prudent after building, depending on your mechanical knowledge.

Optional £20 premium bicycle delivery (free with bikes over £1000)
Truly hassle free bike delivery! We take the bicycle from its original box in "kit" form, then our CYTECH qualified mechanics perform a PDI (pre delivery inspection) to bring the bike to a "ride away" state. Then we simply turn the handlebars on the bike and insert it into one of our custom made bikes boxes for shipping to you.
When you receive the bike, simply open box at the end marked front, take out the cardboard front wheel retainer and pull the bike out. Once the bike is free of the box, simply attach the non drive side pedal, turn and tighten the handlebars and ride off into the sunset!
If you follow the instructions on the side of your box, it should literally take no more than 2 minutes to make your bike ready to ride.

How to build your bike with our premium delivery option
parts and accessory postage
All accessory orders above £50 are delivered for free. Some UK postcodes listed on this page do however carry a surcharge for heavy & outsized items. Parts & accessory orders are sent by Royal Mail 1st class recorderd delivery & in all cases a tracking number will be supplied on dispatch. Some heavier or outsized items such as multiple accessory orders, cycle trainers and vehicle mounted cycle carriers may be sent by TNT.
All orders below £50 are subject to a £1.99 shipping charge.
In all cases, goods sent by Dales Cycles will require the signature of a recipient at the postal address before they are released from the care of the selected courier. If any of our postal policies are unclear or if you have any questions regarding shipping policies, please call us on 0330 440 4080 and we will be glad to answer any queries you may have.
Shipping exceptions & surcharges
Unfortunately due to the policies of our chosen shipping companies we regret that we have to apply a separate charge of £20 to selected postcodes in the UK for our bicycles. We have invested significant time into choosing the very best couriers and shipping rates for our customers and these prices will be adjusted if more competitive options become available. Regretfully we do not ship outside the UK or to the channel islands.
Northern ireland postcode shipping exceptions
Postcodes ranging from BT1 - BT94 in Northern Ireland carry a further £20 charge for bicycle shipping.
Aberdeenshire postcode shipping exceptions
Postcodes ranging from AB25 - AB99 in Aberdeenshire carry a further £20 charge for bicycle shipping.
Outer hebrides postcode shipping exceptions
Postcodes ranging from HS1 - HS9 in the Outer Hebrides carry a further £20 charge for bicycle shipping.
invernesshire postcode shipping exceptions
Postcodes ranging from IV1 - IV63 in Invernesshire carry a further £20 charge for bicycle shipping.
kirkwall area postcode shipping exceptions
Postcodes ranging from KW1-KW17 in the Kirkwall area carry a further £20 charge for bicycle shipping.
Paisley (western isles) postcode shipping exceptions
Postcodes ranging from PA20 - PA80 in the Paisley & Western Isles carry a further £20 charge for bicycle shipping.

Refunds & exchange policy
We are confident that you will be very happy with the products you purchase from us but if you do change your mind we offer a 14 day money back guarantee on all online purchases except in the one circumstance listed below* This cooling-off period begins the day your order is confirmed and ends 14 days from the day after you receive your order and applies only to the conditions below.
how our 14 day refund policy works
If you wish to cancel an order before it has been dispatched you should phone our helpline at the first opportunity, we can be contacted on 0330 440 4080 although this may not always be possible depending on individual circumstances.
If you wish to return and item that has already been received, please call 0330 440 4080 where a member of our staff will be happy to advise you and guide you through any item of the returns process.
Returning accessories
The goods must be returned within 14 days from the day they are received/signed for.
Goods that are unsuitable, ordered by mistake or size errors must be returned at your cost in their original condition along with all packaging intact & paperwork intact and in a re-sellable condition. If returning goods within the 14 day policy, you are under a duty to keep them in your possession and to take reasonable care of them until they are returned.
You should retain proof of postage until we inform you that the returned items have been received safely by us. We will not take resposibility for lost mail unless a signature has been attained for the item at Dales Cycles.
Items that are damged or delivered in error are subject to the same basic conditions & expectations, however, should any claim for the above be valid, Dales Cycles will promptly refund any postage costs.
Please ensure you send a ligible cover note including your receipt & contact details with all returns. This will provide clarity on the reason for return of the item & speed up the returns process.
Returning a bicycle
If you wish to return a bicycle that is unsuitible for your needs, then you must first contact one of our representatives on 0330 440 4080
If the cycle is being returned at your own choice, you will be liable to the following requirements.
- A declaration that the bicycle is in and un-used, resellable condition.
- All accessories, free items and instructions relevant to the original sale are present in the above state.
- You must have the bicycle appropriately re-packaged for pick up at your own cost.
- You will be liable for any cost incurred to Dales Cycles for pickup of the bike.
- The bike must be available for pickup between 9am-5pm on a weekday.
If you can meet the above requirements for arranging the return of your bike, then we will arrange pickup from and aggreed address on and express "next working day" delivery. Once the bike has been received at Dales Cycles, the following process will be carried out.
- We will check that the bike has arrived with the packaging secure with no aesthetic damage.
- We will assemble the bicycle so it is safe to ride and check its mechanical integrity.
Should the above checks be carried out & we find everything is ok, the a refund will be issued and will show on your account in 3-4 working days. The refund will be less the amount paid by Dales Cycles for picking your bike up. Costs for pickup vary depending on the location of the pickup address and can be quoted upon your initial enquiry.
If we have sent you an incorrect order or your item is damaged
Should, for some reason, your purchases reach you in a less than perfect condition please contact our helpline immediately on 0330 440 4080 so we can resolve the problem as swiftly as possible.
We will endeavour to offer an exact replacement wherever possible or can advise on a suitable replacement of similar quality and value. If you do not wish the item replaced or exchanged within these terms, a full refund will be given. In either case we will refund any postal costs incurred by you in returning a faulty, incorrect or damaged item. In this case, please see our refund policy below for details of returning your payment
Refund & return of funds policy
Any agreed refunds will be actioned on us receiving the goods. Refunds can take up to 5 working days to appear on credit & debit cards and is entirely dependent on the card issuer. Refunds can only be issued by the means and method of original payment without exception.
*Made to Order Items
Unfortunately, exchanges or refunds are not allowed if the Goods have been specially made to order, personalized or altered to fit. These items do however come with their applicable warranty periods.
