Aluminium is strong, light, it can be manipulated into almost any shape and is great for transferring power from your pedals to the wheel. Aluminium does not rust and used to be quite unforgiving to ride, but manufacturers have eliminated the bad and now a good aluminium road bike is a joy to ride from every aspect.
